Gran Via Madrid Spain — Hand Printed Serigraph

Each time I walked out onto the Gran Via from my neighborhood, I was greeted by the iconic Winged Europa guarding the head of the avenue from the gilded copula of this building. The “Edificio Metrópolis” (Metropolis Building) is synonymous with Madrid. Every summer afternoon she stands brilliantly illuminated by the warm Mediterranean sun. The large, ever-present national flag on the building’s facade inspired me to create this image. Instead of a flag waving from the building, the building joins the flag in celebrating the bright red and gold of Spain. Can you feel the pride?

“Gran Via Madrid” is an original image hand printed by the artist in the studio on 100% cotton Rives fine art paper. Limited edition of 8 prints. Image area 14 x 11 inches (28 x 35 cm). Sheet size 19 x 15 inches (48 x 38 cm). Each print is signed, numbered, embossed and accompanied by an Artist’s Certificate of Authenticity.
