When your new art acquisition arrives, follow these simple steps to protect it:

  1. Inspect the exterior of the packaging and photograph any damage if you find it. Open the package very carefully to avoid damaging your art. Cut with the tip of an Xacto knife or a utility knife with the blade extended in its smallest position. Avoid using keys or kitchen knives. Cut at the indicated spots, if they’re marked.
  2. Carefully remove the art and its clear protective sleeve from the packaging. Avoid bending and crinkling the art. Save the packaging for now.
  3. Admire your new acquisition! The clear protective sleeve is acid free. Keep the art in this sleeve until it is ready to be framed. I recommend storing art in its shipping package, including the desiccant gel pack if one was included.

What if the package is damaged? Take photos and save the packaging. Inspect the art carefully. I go to great lengths to package art to protect it from occasional damage to the outer packaging. Hopefully there’s no harm done to the art. If there is, inform me right away. Packages are insured by the carrier, so I would need to file a claim. Meanwhile, I’ll reply to you with instructions for an exchange or refund for damaged art, depending on whether the edition has sold out.

You have impeccable taste. Thank you for choosing my art for your collection!
